Table of Contents

Is a second chance at life always favourable? Harry does not really think so. But what can he do, anyway? It helps that he is beyond the ordinary sorts anywhere he ends up… does it not?

How would a Secondborn young adult who never had a childhood cope, if he was sent into an unrecogniseable world as someone not more than a baby, and a Firstborn no less?

And how would the various people meeting or knowing him react to his presence there, a child who was not really a child, more than one-and-a-half millennia since the Firstborn were last blessed with the birth of an offspring?

Warnings: Spoilers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. And the story has not yet been beta-read.

Nominated in the MEFAwards 2010.

Trying to answer my own set of challenges; "100 Prompts." A collection of drabbles (from true drabbles to triple drabbles, according to MS Word) spanning the Beginning to the First Age, told through various scenes, in the point of viewof various characters – Elves, Men, Ainur, Dwarves, Ents, animals, and even orcs; not chronologically. Ratings may vary. Enjoy!

4. "Plants": Erestor found a way to teach little Ereinion about botany. A double drabble.
5. "Threats": Radog and Otol, two orcs, were fighting over a fresh kill. Who won? A double drabble.
6. "Water": The Quendi were learning still, but Nowë brought it a little too far, or so Elmo thought. A triple drabble.
7. "Wind": It was summer, but chill spread from the North, and a pair of persistent Half-Elven children wanted to know. . . A triple drabble.
8. "Hobby": Twinspeak is annoying at best and head-aching at worst, and when the pair of twins see it as a hobby. . . Maedhros was the victim. A true drabble.
9. "Tradition": There was only one thing barring Thranduil from becoming a warrior: heights. A triple drabble.
10. "Earth": . . . after all, a female Dwarf is just as fearsome as her male counterparts. A triple drabble.
11. "Breaking the Habit": There is no song sung about the Grinding Ice, and there is a reason why. A true drabble.
12. "Betrayal": Gondolin: a fit ransom, indeed . . . . A true drabble.
13. "Rebellion": Not all sons of Fëanor were truly devoted to their father. A true drabble.
