After the Manner

It was so good to read these again.  Perhaps, one day, we might even find out whether she survives for a little and what she's called... but if not, then it is omplete as is.

Author's Response:

Argh, WIP guilt... I really must get back to this set one of these days!  Thanks so much, as ever - I'm very glad you still like these!

Those Unhappy Ones

First thought upon finishing --- is there any more?

I was a MEFA disaster as reviewing went, which is how I missed this there. It's maybe as well because I don't know how I'd have managed ten points.  Some things just need 'perfect' to explain how the reader felt. You build a world, an atmosphere, that is real and tangible, and made me feel huge sympathy for a creature I've not given much thought to before. I even had a brief moment of worrying about homeless Orcs --- that's powerful writing *g*.

Quite wonderful.

Author's Response:

Oh wow, thanks!  I think the last time we crossed virtual paths, you apologised for missing a review - judging from the date on this, it's my turn!  I'm sorry, my alerts for this site seem to be a little haphazard.  I'm really glad you enjoyed this, too; unfortunately there is no more YET, though I keep meaning, very sincerely, to complete the set.  (It's one of those ridiculous situations where you have a clear idea about what's going to happen but somehow don't get around up to writing it.)  I'm glad you worried about the Orcs!  They're only proto-Orcs really and in a horrible situation through no fault of their own - they aren't meant to be monsters here.  Thank you, and sorry again for the delayed response!
