Well, I'm back. Realizing it's been a couple years since this story moved from the site where I originally started reading it, I figured it was time to get back! I am starting over again and really looking forward to it. Now that Game of Thrones has hardened me to charactr deaths, - oh, I should probably say no more until later......

Author's Response:

Yay, great to see you pop up again!

I'd say that unlike George Martin, I actually finish things *g*, and there's a few chapters more than there were. there's been a bit of an intermission though, as I've been torn away from it all by a plotbunny that demanded to be written (and still is being worked on). I'm more than eager to get back to this story.

Nooooooo. Oh poor Eowyn...and Elfhelm not to know about the child. She has to be strong for them both now.

The twists and turns you re unwinding are wonderful....( one little question...do we get to see Faramir again sometime soon? :) )

Author's Response:

Faramir? Probably not in the next few chapters, but he will return

Sad but perfect. Amrothos thinking of Chiron and the interweaving with Arwen and Glorfindel thinking of Gondolin... The layers on layers of strategy, plot threads and history interwoven are amazing....

Arwen...I love how you portray her..it helps erase Liv Tyler from my mind :)

Author's Response:

Thanks!

Oddly enough, my mental imageof Arwen borrows a lot from Liv Tyler, at least in looks (and not completely, either)

oo..just in time. Earendil may be spare with words but he knows how to get his grandson to react. The idea of the family being more concerned about a betrothal and Thorongil's exploits made me smile....

Exciting chapter

Author's Response:

The idea of the family being more concerned about a betrothal and Thorongil's exploits ... well, these were the correct priorities at the time...

I very much enjoyoed how you wove Celeborn and Galadriel and the mirror back and forth through this. Imrahil was very shrewd...Halbarad wishing he could repay Elladan's kindness was so poignant

Author's Response:

Thanks:-)

Imrahil has to be clever after years of an increasingly suspicious and paranoid Denethor...

This story made me think. So little is needed for the whole world (in-story world) to be turned upside down.
A little nudge to a little pebble, and so much of the flow of history can change:
Aragorn, the twins, Faramir's decision..... And these are only some of them.

The story is captivating, and held me tight with its plot. It's a kind of story one can't say "I enjoyed it", because it makes you cry and despair with the characters, but It's an excellent story that I loved to read, and didn't want to leave.

I hope to see more updates and to reach the story's end.
I can't think of a good outcome, but I hope you can.

Thank you for this part so far.

Author's Response:

THank you for your kind words. It's one of the things I find interesting about both writing and reading AUs how little it can take sometimes to turn the world upside down.

I'm now getting near the end of the chapters that I'm reposting/revising from HASA, and updates will slow down (I'm at times a painfully slow writer), but I do know where I'm going and how it's going to end. Whether the outcome can be considered 'good', well...

It'll be a while, but I fully intend to get there.

this chapter sent shivers down my spine..your characteization of Ulmo was spectacular...

Author's Response:

Thanks (and a special thanks to Anglachel, whose Ulmo provided most of the characterisation there)

I loved how you've written Glorfindal here..his interactions with Asfaloth and his concern for Elrohir...carefully yet w so much depth of feeling. Your description of Elrohir's reaction is so well done and I find myself anxious for the next chapter with them...

Author's Response:

Thanks:-)

They have a few chapters' break now, but it won't be too long;-0

The peril of being such a great writer...Elohir's pain and dismay came through so well...Nothing to be sorry for! :)

Author's Response:

Thanks; it was either say sorry or attempt an evil laugh, though ;-)

Reading this chapter (and after finishing Hunt) I thought: "Here we go, this is 'A Song of Ice and Fire' in Middle-earth! Noone is safe!" You certainly keep me on my toes, and I can't wait to see how it will all turn out in the end...while at the same time I hope this is going to be a looong story as it is very compelling and very skilfully written.

Author's Response:

Thank you:-) (didn't get a notification for the comment, so I found it just now)

Would it help if I looked innocent and harmless? No, no one would believe it... *watches characters run for the hills*

I wouldn't say no one is safe - after all, there'll have to be a point of view for all chapters, but yeah...

Yay! A new chapter! I enjoy this story so much - it always feels like a special Saturday treat to sit down with a cup of coffee and read the new chapter.

Author's Response:

Thanks!

I try to keep the old chapter reposts as good as weekly, so there's still some to come - once I get down to new chapters again, it's going to take longer (but I know where I'm going *g*)

A terrible situation! Alas that he should be so injured at such a time! Definitely a dark AU! I will read more as I can.

Author's Response:

Thanks:-) And yes, it's definitely a grim situation. Hope you enjoy the rest when you get round to it (I'm working on the next few chapter for after I'm done with the reposting)
