A totally fulfilling ending! I love the imagery of Legolas holding his father as Thranduil sings the lullaby! Such tenderness brought a tear to my eye! It was a lovely story, Sivan. If I had anything negative to say, it would simply we spent too short a period of time with these two characters! I wish you would have written much more - perhaps the next few years of the life shared by father and son in this elven kingdom! :-)

Triumph - if still mixed with conflicting emotions! I liked the way in which you have written some small things that bring a smile to Thranduil in his loss. The speaking of the one word - Father - will be the tie that completely seals the bond between these two characters! Nicely written, Sivan! :-)

At last! Thranduil's grief is broken! So perfect, using the memory of Thranduil's promise to his wife as the catalyst to push him back into the land of the living! Some small remaining despair to pass through in this final realization of failing in his promise but even this leads me to expect that Thranduil will quickly be returning to himself now!

One can empathize with Thranduil's struggle, the strength it is taking from him to be trapped between his loss and his gift. The tenderness between the characters is well written. It is easy to see how the guards care for their king and are likewise struggling to know how they can help him to carry on and lead a happy life for the child's sake. I enjoyed this chapter and hope to see Thranduil surpass his grief soon!

This is a wonderful beginning to your story! I'm anxious to see what happens next! I love stories about the elves of Mirkwood and look forward to hearing how Thranduil progresses from this point forward - well done! :-)
