Advent 2010 Series by Marta

[ - ]

I wrote a series of stories dealing with what I consider the "big four" relationships in Gondor and Rohan: Denethor/Finduilas, Aragorn/Arwen, Faramir/Eowyn, and Eomer/Lothiriel. They are all told from the women's perspective, and also all focus on her experience rather more than the male partner's. (With the exception of Denethor/Finduilas, the husband is always offstage, though I think their individual characters are felt.) These stories also look at social injustices in Gondor and Rohan, and are inspired by the symbolism of one of the four Advent candles.

Aragorn, as the new king of Gondor and Arnor Reunited, ushered in a new age of peace - and, Gondor quite naturally hoped, the beginnings of a new dynasty. But just because something is expected does not mean it will come easily. (Arwen-centric.)

Marrying off a son should have been the most difficult part of that evening. After the wedding, Lothiriel learns something about her other son.

(While this story is thoroughly gen, it does deal with the theme of homosexuality.)
