Story Notes:

For one-hundred-and-eleven years, Bilbo Baggins dwelt in Bag End, in Hobbiton of the Shire, save for a brief journey into the Wide World. This is his story. BOOK-VERSE!

eleventy one young bilbo

My thanks to Baranduin for the nice banner of young Bilbo, made with a picture of a young Martin Freeman, and to knowmefirst for the large banners and chapter headings, done for the wipbigbang.

So far as I can find out, no one has ever written a definitive "biography" of the life of Bilbo Baggins.  This is my attempt to do so.

It will be grounded firmly in the fanon space of "my" Shire-universe, and there may occasionally be passages you recognize from some of my other stories.  I will try to keep that to a minimum as much as I can.  Also, I will be using the two-thirds age conversion for hobbits that I have always used.

I hope all of you will enjoy this story of young Bilbo and how he grew up to become the hobbit who followed Gandalf and thirteen Dwarves "off into the Blue for mad adventures"!

Some of you may think I have a lot of nerve starting a new WIP, but the Muse will not be denied sometimes.  And I hope that I will be able to juggle all of them without too many waits between updates.  I wanted to have at least three chapters of this one ready before I began posting it.
