The year is F.A. 515, and it’s Yule on the island of Balar. Or how a little Noldor pragmatism changed the fate of the world.
Written for Oshun for the 2012 Yule Fic Exchange.
Request: I would like a wintertime celebration in First Age Middle-earth, featuring any Finwëans (except Turgon or any alleged daughters of Finwë; indulge me it's the holidays!).
Table of Contents
I’ve gone with the familiar ‘Yule’ for the celebration, a word that defines itself – a time for family and of hope renewed.
Gil, Gil-galad, Ereinion – decisions, decisions. I use Gil when I write, and the flavour of the story changes slightly when I switch it to Gil-galad before posting. In his own head, he is Gil, and this is his POV, so in the end I let it stand. He is always Ereinion to Galadriel.
Itarillë = Idril (yes, I know you know that *g*)
Happy 2013, Oshun.
