How is it that, near the end of the prologue in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Frodo tells Bilbo that he’s going to go off and wait for Gandalf, and then, in the introduction to the extended version of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Bilbo thinks that Frodo is still somewhere in the smial? This little movie-verse gapfiller explains how that could have possibly happened.
Disclaimer: Bilbo, Frodo, and the other hobbits are not my creation, but J.R.R. Tolkien’s. And the scenes I have sought to explain in my story are not mine, but Peter Jackson’s and New Line Cinema’s.
