Biography:

Mae govannen! I've been living in Middle Earth since the year 1975 of the 7th Age. When I'm asleep I have a recurring nightmare where I work as an electrician in a strange world called 'Modern', where things are motorized and electrified. But when I awaken, I see that only thunderstorms are what issues forth electricity.

Been writing stories in, or partially based in Middle Earth since about the same time. Have a lovely co-writer who I have been writing tales with since 2001.

A major project I'm doing is to digitally archive all the stories I wrote in notebooks over the years. It gives me a chance to edit, and in many cases, complete them.

Chapter 1: None For Herself

Wow! What can I say? This was a good write of the time and area! Loved the descritions of the settings mixed in with the dialogue, and bringing Aragorn's horse into it.Thanks much for sharing!

On the abandonment of Annuminas, I've always had a hard time with the "hard" '861 theory'. I can't see the remaining people of Annuminas suddenly packing up and moving to the new fortress of Fornost Erain. I subscribe to the "soft" 861 theory, where the numbers of Dunedain gradually left, many to go build the new city starting in the 700's sometime, which would have taken time, and eventually there were very few left in Annuminas. It wasn't maintained, and it slowly fell into disuse.

Chapter 1: Hope

This was quite a nice read! Like the time setting of 2951 and the dialogue between the young canon characters Aragorn and Halbarad! If I have any critique, it could have used a slight bit of scenery description when Halbarad spots Aragorn. Was it day or night, and was it wooded or not, etc.  But that is just me, and I can imagine that part myself as I see it. Thanks for sharing this tale!

An Honourable End by Elora

Rated PG13

This is a tale of the East Fold, as Rhun's incursions into Rohan intensify - bleeding off the strength of Rohan during the War of the Ring.

Before the East Fold was the East Fold, it had been considered by the Easterlings to be their land. Dispossessed, this fuels particular enimity towards the interlopers - the Rohirrim.

The Rohirrim, meanwhile, see themselves as superior to the Easterlings.

Thus, this tale is told with a post-colonial frame of reference...seeking to capture the implicit biases of the characters.

This is very well written! Love Freja!

Author's Response:

I really do think that we should, in time, write up/develop further what unfolds whilst Freja is knocking about in Dale with Vidugavia. That occurs well prior to this episode, for in this raids have tipped over into outright incursions along the East Fold (fanned by Sauron and likely abetted, at the least, by Saruman who was eager to see Rohan weakened and hence unable to aid Gondor nor Arnor). In this episode, Freja has returned to Rohan from her banishment and resumed her duties as second in command.

It could be fun indeed to develop a younger Freja and Videgavia both, before the events of the War of the Ring left an indelible imprint on each of their characters.
