Biography:

This bard writes a lot, loves to read a lot and likes to muse about a huge variety of ideas that firmly takes root in Tolkien's world. Foremost a Silmarillion writer (Maglor & Celegorm the most), but I love to read a hobbity story (especially Bilbo) once a while.

However, after two draining and very eventful years, I decided to take a fannish sabbatical of an unknown duration. The rollercoaster has not come to an end yet, so you will not see me around with new works, or reviews coming from me. You might encounter me as I work behind the scenes of an archive, but that is it. Of course it does make sense that someone with two children that young (and one with pdd-nos) doesn't have much time to write (unless you get me more hours in a day). Rest assured, I will still reply to reviews, will finish some works that needs to be finished, some day...

78. 2014 February Challenge: Fanon-busters by Rhapsody

[Reviews - 8]

The February Challenge has the theme "Fanon-busters". The Tolkien fandom and fan fiction have existed for decades and, in that time, have accumulated their share of fanons. From much-beloved (but noncanonical) pairings, to aspects of a character's appearance, to traits and historical events of a specific group or family, we all regularly encounter and most of us use fanons in our own writing and art. For February's "February Fanon-buster" challenge, select a much-loved or much-loathed fanon and write a story that does the opposite of that fanon. Three extra elements were assigned to the author to be included in the story.

85. 2014 September Challenge: Celebrate! by Rhapsody

[Reviews - 3]

This challenge was another fixed-length-ficlet challenge. However the special element was that the exact number of words had to be 144, to honor the combined ages of Frodo and Bilbo, as well as the number of special guests at the Long-expected Party. The theme is "Celebrate". The prompt assigned was be a quote from the Chapter of LotR, "A Long-expected Party", but the story did not have to include the quote; it could be used as an inspiration, a title or the writer could use key words from the quote somewhere in the ficlet. The ficlet did not have to be set in LotR, it could be set in any part of Tolkien's Legendarium.

90. 2015 February Challenge: International Fanworks Day by Rhapsody

[Reviews - 2]

The February 2015 challenge was in honour of International Fanworks Day. This challenge was to write a story about something that someone in Middle-earth might be a fan of. For example, does Maglor have a problem with fangirls? Does Aragorn have a weakness for First Age poetry? Do famous hobbit cooks have a following? Do some people of Minas Tirith make up stories about the Royal Family? Or any other sort of fannish scenario you can think of. Prompts will be based on your source, so if you comment, please indicate if you are going to base the story in The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings or some other book by Tolkien, or an adaptation of his work such as the movies. The prompt given was a character from that work; but the author did not need to feature the character in his or her story, but he/she a mention was required.
