Biography:
"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same." - Flavia.
I am a Catholic FrodoandSam-aholic. I came to love these two and their wonderful love for each other through first the films and then the books. Thank you, Frodo, Sam, Professor, Elijah, Sean, Peter, Fran and Phillipa!! I am also completely addicted to the BBC Radio adaptation which really shows more vividly than anything the terrible cost to Frodo of carrying his cross all the way to Mordor. Thank you to Ian Holm for such a wonderful, heartbreaking portrayal of that, from innocent lad excited about fireworks to one nearly destroyed by torment and despair.
I love that the first scene of Frodo in the films is reading a book - a hobbit after my own heart, a kindred spirit and another reason to love him. I have loved many people I have met through books and films, but none so like me - a writer and reader and dreamer, truly a soulmate. How did he got so breathtakingly beautiful? Must be God's grace shining through. I have hope he saw his Sam again and I know when he made it to heaven, he was reunited with everyone else he loved. The joy the professor must have to be standing with them. I look forward to expressing my own thanks, not only to him, but to Sam. And it will be so fun to meet Merry and Pippin! :)
I’m having a ball writing about these marvelous hobbits and reading the reverent, loving interpretations of other emulators of the master storyteller. Through them, I have been given a greater love for them and their love for each other, a greater heartache for all they suffered and a deeper appreciation of what gentle, loving hearts they have and a deeper understanding of my self and my faith. My heart has been broken more than once and tears have come to my eyes. You can read many masterpieces on my website - http://www.knittedsouls.com.
I am also working on a book about the rich spirituality contained in the Red Book. Please pray for it and me! Hantanyel and many hobbity hugs. The site for the book is http://www.momentsofgracelotr.com. You can read more at my blog - http://momentsofgracelotr.blogspot.com
Namarie and God bless!

A non-fiction paper I did for the 2009 Tolkien Society Seminar "Journeys and Destinations" which I subtitled The Journey of Samwise the Stouthearted. Of course the brother of his heart figures in it too. :) Enjoy! I have since added to the paper.
